Ilahna Harkins will do whatever it takes to save her brother.
Two centuries after the Godfell War, Ilahna knows that the only way to survive in Clearwall is to be faster and smarter than everyone else. She stays on her toes, steals what she needs… and never EVER mentions magic.
Because magic is the way of the Faoii, and witches get burned in Clearwall.
Being silent isn’t always enough, though, and when her brother starts manifesting mysterious powers, Ilahna knows they don’t have much time.
Hunted across Clearwall, the siblings must unbury a lifetime’s worth of lies and secrets with the help of unlikely allies…or find themselves lashed to the pyre like all the Faoii that came before.
Faoii Betrayer is the riveting and highly-anticipated 2nd novel in the Faoii Chronicles.
Available in Paperback, Digital, and Audiobook!
“This worthy sequel to The Last Faoii showcases Nelson’s ability to weave a tight-knit tapestry of storytelling, world building, and character development without falling into tired fantasy tropes. Ilahna is an incredible character and is more than capable of handling her own against any protagonist written in today’s literary landscape.”
A Must Read!
“…I enjoyed Betrayer so much and was drawn into its wondefully tumultuous world…”

Loved this anthology!
Excellent compilation of stories! I would be hard pressed to single out one as the weakest (or as my favorite!), as they are all strong. Each author has brought their own distinct style to the idea of ESCAPE, and *you* will be glad to sit down and escape into the pages of this book.

Honeysuckle Sky (A Short Story)
They should have stopped sex trafficking on Earth before colonizing other planets.
Raised on Mars, Carsiri had always dreamed of living under a real sky. Now that she’s made it to Earth, however, she’s learned that most Martian women aren’t treated as well as the pamphlets make it seem. As part of the Society for the Protection of Sentients, Carsiri works undercover to save Martians from abusive relationships–but her newest job comes with a deadly surprise no one could have prepared her for. Can Carsiri save her target and herself in time or will they both become just two more Martian statistics?
As Tahani Nelson’s first work of science fiction, “Honeysuckle Sky” opens up an entirely new universe for readers to enjoy. Available as a stand-alone short story or part of the Deception! anthology.
This short story is amazing! The world-building is fantastic in so few words, with a thrilling and heartfelt plot. The suspense enthralled me, especially with the author’s use of an hour-by-hour countdown. Each revelation increases the stakes exponentially with perfect timing. Carsiri’s story is touching and held depth that I connected with, and the overall premise fits perfectly into the sci-fi genre–exploring real issues through otherworldly means. I highly recommend this story–the best half-hour read I’ve experienced in a long time!
